Got upgraded to professional without authorization. Charged me $44.95! I paid $14.28 in 2024. On the phone waiting for the FRAUD department of my bank right now. My bank will be contacting these scammers sharpish … I strongly encourage everyone who has been scammed in this manner to do the same. Teach the big ugly corporations well, my friends!
Yes it’s happened to a lot of us and there is no way of contacting CCleaner. Best thing to do is contact your bank and start a payment dispute. CCleaner have lost a lot of customers due to its poor customer service and new look. They should not be automatically renewing people without authorisation. Maybe someone from CCleaner might listen or get in contact if lawyers get involved.

We called our bank yesterday. They are Investigating for fraud. Yeah, I’m sure these scammers will notice when the payment gets snatched back by our bank. We are not to pay the credit card statement and NO interest will be charged. We just sit back and wait. I’m going to remove CC Cleaner from our computer. It’s gonna be GONE.
Were you upgraded to Pro plus or the standard Pro of CCleaner? TBH it sounds like you were charged for an annual subscription renewal.

if it’s a new pro subscription as you’re saying how would they have gotten your credit card or bank information?
We got upgraded to professional instead of our regular yearly subscription. We didn’t authorize it. That’s fraud. Read my post. I’m not answering anymore questions when the info is right there.
Do you get people commenting who appear not to have read the post? Twice now with me. It’s getting kinda funny in an annoying way. I had to check which language I used on my original post. English indeed. Oh dear

professional is the paid version
there is also professional plus license but that too is just CCleaner professional with more devices you can use with the license. are you saying your subscription went from pro to pro plus? maybe a screen grab could help.

There’s the free version, Pro & Pro plus - no other versions are available hence why I asked which version you originally had.
If you purchased a two year subscription but it renewed after one year then you need to contact support.
Your original post is lacking in detail that’s why we’re asking questions, if you refuse to answer then we cannot help you but as you seem not to want help I’ll not bother any further.
My CCleaner Professional Plus subscription was renewed without me authorising it and despite the card details expiring, so I don’t know how they managed to process the payment. When I requested a refund they couldn’t process it because they didn’t have my up to date card details and I had to provide my bank details. I would like to know how this occurred. The invoice I have has my old card details on.
