Do you guys have any idea why that is happening? It seems to be happening only when I right click on an icon in different places, like on my desktop, in my start menu.
can you expand on the issue a little bit, what exactly is the problem ?

The user gave this link which contains the answer: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/dupcontexts.htm It tells me that to fix it, I need to create a registry entry called IsShortcut, but I'm not too comfortable with editing the registry at the moment so... I'm kind of stuck...

Actually, I'm learning how to work with registry entries in GeeksToGo upperclass at the moment, so I'll probably be comfortable enough to edit the registry soon enough.

If you use it also use ShellMenuView.
Then they have FileTypesMan and OpenWithView.
In Ice's case it is a bit more than that as the doubles show up because it seems the 'shortcut' value has been deleted from the registry.
Fixed the problem my self without having to mess with the registry. I've been playing around with my system's icons lately with IconTweaker, and I realized that IconTweaker must've been the program that removed my little shortcut icon, and caused the problem. So I reinstalled IconTweaker, then checked the box to remove the shortcut overlay icons, clicked OK, and then unchecked the box and then pressed OK again. That made my shortcut overlay icons appear, and now my problem is fixed. Thanks for all of your help guys!

I don't know why removing the little desktop shortcut icon that tells that a file is a shortcut via Tweak UI would cause that, I've been doing that for umpteen years and have never had a doubled up right click context menu - maybe lucky I suppose, and my nLite XP SP3 installation has them turned off by default.
I suppose if you don't want them showing you could make a blank ico (properly sized) to replace them with that has 100% transparency, although I've never tried that.

Ok I've now tried that by making a 100% transparent icon with Paint.NET and it works, basically it's and invisible shortcut icon.
