First off I know I was being stupid, regardless of the outcome I have learned my lesson.
here's the score. ITS just came and took my computer. Something about bandwidth. No one is telling me anything. I have been on some adult websites this week. HOWEVER I do cover my tracks on my end; incognito mode, DNS flush on startup and CCleaner runs automatically. So I'm fairly certain I left no traces. I know the sysadmin can still catch me, but how conclusive is that?
thanks in advance. I am really freaking out because I don't want to get fired.
I sympathise with your position, but can't really give you anything positive except I hope you may have learned a valuable lesson from your experience.
Work computers are really a no no for questionable surfing, and I'm not judging you here just stating a fact.
If it's any help, it depends upon why they've removed your PC, and how determined and knowledgeable your IT guys are.
CCleaner will have probably removed all traces visible to the naked eye, but maybe not to a determined search with the right software.
That's the best I can tell you, and as this thread can't really go anywhere positive, I'll genuinely wish you good luck and close it to further discussion.
You can always open another topic at a later time and let us know if it turned out OK.
