Hi Aethec my answer is the same as JD Power's really.
I keep installing Silverlight when I was still using Windows XP and it somehow always fails to install and if it did got installed somehow, it doesn't take effect on the browser to play those videos and content that demanded it.
Silverlight also seems to be an optional update from Windows Update. I don't think there is much use for it at all.
Netflix streaming to your pooter needs Silverlight. Otherwise, not necessary.
