Why is it that i managed to recuva some of my files and when i open them they wont let me copy or save to anywhere, also most are corrupt, is this fixable, how do i find my music and how do i put all my photos back into my pictures folder?? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Stress, Windows creates multiples of some files. Are you sure you recovered the actual pics, or the thumbnails of them? If you had multiple my pictures folders, or restore points, I don't know if Recuva would recover pics located inside restore points, but guess it is possible.
I would re-try with deep scan & recover all the pics to another drive, then see how things go. If that fails, try PhotoRec or some other open source util & see if the results are the same.
* Corrupted pics usually happen because the deleted files have been overwritten or partially overwritten, but I have also seen pics recovered by some programs that others have problems with for whatever reason.
Be sure you always recover to ANOTHER (& not the same drive you are scanning).
P.S. You can find the music by going to the right of the Recuva Search box & clicking the drop down for Pictures/Music/Docoments, etc... If you have any further questions, ask away!
