I noticed that I had an old version of CCleaner - I had a collection of "Cookies to keep" . I searched for a list of them on my PC to no avail. I then thought that if I uninstalled the old version the list would remain as normal uninstallation routines just erase the original installation. The list is gone.
- To avoid repeating this in future could you tell me where is this list as I could copy it safely when doing an upgrade.
- Do you recommend upgrading over the old version as opposed to uninstalling/installing.

Hello John,
"Cookies to keep" is kept in the Registry unless you Check the option at Option > Advanced Save settings to INI file.
I recommend doing this . Once you get all your settings and "cookies" set up then you should copy this file to another safe place. It is kept in the C:\Program Files\CCleaner folder . It will be deleted if you uninstall CCleaner. So you definitely should keep a copy. It also can get corrupted if you turn the option off by accident.
