Add WebDAV Cache Cleaning Option in CCleaner

Hello everyone,

I’d like to propose a new feature for CCleaner that would help many users dealing with issues related to WebDAV on Windows. I’m suggesting the addition of an option to clean the WebDAV cache located at:

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Temp\TfsStore\Tfs_DAV

Every time I transfer large files via WebDAV using the built-in Windows Explorer, my disk space decreases significantly. Recently, I discovered 50 GB of unnecessary files in this folder. These files are essentially copies of those sent via WebDAV.

It seems Microsoft hasn’t addressed this bug in Windows 10 and Windows 11, although they released a fix for Windows 7. The issue persists, as seen in various discussions and forums.

Implementing a cleaning option for this cache in CCleaner would be a valuable feature for users who regularly encounter this inconvenience. It would help free up significant disk space automatically, enhancing the overall efficiency of our systems.

Looking forward to your thoughts and support!

Can you not simply add the files as an ‘Include’ for Custom Clean?

Options > Include > Add
image
Browse to the folder.
Leave File Types as ‘All files’.
OK

That will then delete all the files from that folder whenever you run a Custom Clean.

Thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate the workaround using the ‘Include’ option for Custom Clean. However, it would be great to see this feature integrated directly into CCleaner.

When I initially downloaded the program, I hoped to find an easy way to clear the WebDAV cache. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information about it and had to manually search through folders on my drive.
