I've used CCleaner for a while now, but with each new update I'm confounded as to what the two options for running CCleaner on the recycle bin mean and don't know whether to opt in or out of them. Neither the Quick Tour nor the forums I've searched really give any help. Would someone please give an explanation with examples.

Well there isn't a great need to use this if you have a short-cut on your desktop. All as it means is if you right-click on your recycle bin you can select run CCleaner. You can select this option when you install CCleaner or change this option in Options\Settings.
