I use Windows 11-64, and this regards my browser Password Manager from Firefox 144.0.2. Most nights I run CCleaner before I power off my desktop, but often the program opens with a window that says the program is busy with something else and cannot run Health Check. So rather than just closing the program I tried the Custom Clean, and I may have accidentally deleted all of the files in my password manager. Where once I had well over a hundred passwords, now I have none. I tried to use Recuva and I don’t know what files are passwords and which aren’t. What can I do?
You need to be careful now, use another device if you can while looking for a solution.
You don’t say what or which app is/was storing your passwords?
From what you describe though it sounds like your Browser and not a seperate Password Manager so -
Have you actually lost any passwords - or have you just been logged out of websites and so now need to log back in to them again (using your saved passwords) ?
The passwords wiil all be stored in just one file, the name and type of that file will depend on just what was storing the passwords for you.
