About the Chinese version authorisation

Hi there,

Two days ago, I used Chinese Search Engine (baidu dot com) searched “ccleaner” and I found an authorized Chinese CCleaner version. Because it uses the same logo, I thought that is this CCleaner. I have download the software, but after paid the money, I found that I could not install the software.

So I just want to check whether that is a truly authorized Chinese CCleaner version or not. If not, I think that company has already broke the law and I hope that you guys could give me something to approve this and I will report this crime in China. But if that is an authorized Chinese CCleaner version software or authorized Chinese affiliate company, please also let me know.

By the way, I have the downloaded software and the activate code is also not in the same format like the one I downloaded from ccleaner.com. If you need it, I could provide it, too.

I cannot upload screenshot here. The forum doesn’t allow me do that. Otherwise I could provide more information about it. But you can find the website I talked about by using “baidu dot com” and search “ccleaner”. There are many websites which are using the CCleaner logo.

It looks to me that you have fallen for a scam.
You could complain to Baidu about the seller, I doubt that you will get far with that but good luck if you try.
Put it down to experience and learn to be more careful in future.

All popular softwares have scammers selling fake/counterfeit versions.

CCleaner is a very popular software and so of course there are fakes out there.

Baidu is a big Chinese company - it is quite a bit like Amazon.
Like Amazon some of the sellers on it’s marketplace are not genuine and some of the products sold are fake/counterfeit.

You should always get software direct from the manufacturer/developer when you can.

If you see a ‘bargain’ on another website it’s often not the real thing at all.
I may not work, it may even contain malware.
If an offer looks too good to be true then it ususally isn’t true.
