A question for my UK friends!

I love Dr. Lightman's accent from Lie To Me!

As for the topic, has anyone seen "My Fair Lady (1964)"? I never knew that much about English accents till I watched that movie.

Indian accents, meh. (It really isn't what many people think it to be!) Those movies exaggerate, but well its funny so who cares! :D

I live in Massachusetts, so I'm in the most accent-less English part of the United States.

Oh yeah, from Maine to maybe Virginia there must be ?? different ones.

I'm from the midwest OHIO, we have a lot of successful call centers, I heard it's because we are very understandable....we have NO accent at all.

... Sir Anthony Hopkins as my psychiatrist. :o

Hugh Laurie does such a good job of it I didn't know he was British 'till somebody told me. :-)

Hi Login,

I didn't know Hugh was British either until I ran his bio up one day. By the way, Sir Anthony Hopkins portrayed the evil Dr. Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs." Have you ever wished you had never poked your nose into a thread and could make your post disappear? Think I'll go soak my head. LOL Take care and have a good one.

Indeed I have, almost daily. :P

Slowday, I feel the same as you, a british accent is pleasant, the speaker always seems more clever and witty.

It's good to know I'm not alone. I love the British accent; it's soothing and the "mate" slays me. Refreshing break from some of the briarhopper, grammar butchering speech I've had to endure. Good day to you.

I couldn't agree with you more mate.

I was thinking of you when I said that Dennis.
