I have been waiting patiently for a slim build for Defraggler 2.04 but there still hasn't been one posted. Just curious as to whether or not there is going to be one created this time around.

Don't wait, just DL it now. Install it over your current slim build.
All slim build is just the installer without google install added. Just use the regular installer and decline the google offers
