It might be something to do with "S/PDIF" from memory it stands for Sony/Phillips Digital...something
In my "Advanced Options" I have a check box for "1 Switch Line-In to Rear Output" which basically enables a 2nd pair of speakers to be connected to the sound card.

Then you'd program get an error code for trying to disable crashes:
"Access denied, you don't have the proper permissions to disable crashes, please as your Administrator for help."
