Anthony A
Maybe Malware? Did you run some scans?
fredvries
It could be the result of you having downloaded the Dutch version of the Google toolbar. International (English) version is downloadable here: toolbar.google.com Nederlands (Dutch) version is downloadable here: toolbar.google.com/intl/nl/
TonyKlein
What Google recommends, and what should work (provided you're allowing cookies for Google! ) is clicking on the "Google in English" link from any foreign language homepage. Your preferences ought to be retained. Tony CLSID List - A Collection of Autostart Locations
chrism
Its really wierd. I ran several malware/spyware/torjan scans. I dont have anything Netherlands. I have no connection to it at all. The toolbar is still in regular english. its like google redirected itself to the netherlands page or something

Anthony A
This might be too obvious but did you set the country you wanted in the Google Tool Bar Options? In the options click on the search box settings. There is a drop down box with many different countries for Google.
pwillener
Google "knows" or "assumes" certain things that you can correct or override manually. I don't know how Google "knows" that I live in Japan, but it does redirect me to google.co.jp on all my computers, until I click on Google.com in English. Once I've done this, it will keep. chrism
I had to set my homepage to google.com/web.php? UTF=8 or something like that. But the oddest thing happened. I didnt touch anything at all. I typed in google.com and it went their on both of my computers. On my laptop it is the barest of bare with programs. It doesnt have google toolbar on it so I dont know what could make it change to google.nl. I use Opera on it and not IE, it that makes a difference with google redirecting. So its now back to normal. It just did it automatically like google was spying on me and then they changed it back. Dont know what did it, I just woke up and turned the PC on and typed in google.com and it goes to the US page. If it makes you feel any better, I had the same thing happen to me. I have 2 internet connections one is a buisiness class the other is just Road Runner. If i Switch to RR it works fine when i type in www.google.com but switch back to buisiness class and it goes to google.nl at this point my hunch is DNS issue but I have not had a chance to try a diffent DNS server, Business and regular Road Runner use diffent DNS servers... I also found this on another board. Re: IE 7 Google address - Vanguard 25-Feb-07 11:01:39 It's called load-balancing of their worldwide network. You get their regional boundary server based on from where you connect. Obviously one host, regardless of which OS you use, could not handle the millions of concurrent connect requests that would hit it from all over the planet. If you desparately need their US boundary server, find a public proxy in the US and connect to Google from there (but realize that public, or private, proxies can sniff all your traffic just as can your ISP). However, right on their google.nl page is a "Google.com in English" link if you don't speak the native language, so use that URL instead.
fireryone
It could also be related to which country setting you have: Open: Control Panel/Regional and Language Options or Run: Start / Run intl.cpl Double check the settings. // yes I am still here, had to postpone my trip. \\ fireryone
