incy wincy
Hi all, Got a little problem that has me wondering what to do. My icon for avg (ewido) has disapeared of my taskbar,I still have the desktop shortcut and its in my start up menu but, they don't open. I've checked add/remove and c/programs,they both tell me the program is still there. I've tried right clicking on several items to scan with the avg 7 but,all that happens is the timer runs for ever. in orderfor it to stop I have to end task as the programs will not respond. Has anybody got ideas as to what I can do to get it back .
Moderators rridgely Posted October 27, 2006 Moderators Share Posted October 27, 2006 I would just reinstall it. I'm not sure whats causing it but that would sure fix it and its easy.
incy wincy
Thanks for reply Rridgely, Iforgot to mention that my icon for Adsl (little green triangle )has also gone. The computer itself is running a bit slower, response is not as good. the only thing i have done before this started is install superantispyware, surely this can't be anything to do with it can it? Moderators rridgely Posted October 27, 2006 Moderators Share Posted October 27, 2006 Dont think so. Did you scan with superantispyware? If so what did it find? (it keeps logs in the preferences menu. Post that for me to see.)

Moderators Andavari Posted October 28, 2006 Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2006 I know there's some keyboard key usage or shortcut that can disable AVG Anti-Spyware's real-time protection as I witnessed it in Ewido 4.0 but I never found out exactly what I was pressing on the keyboard to disable it. I ended up removing it due in part to this, and because it was causing my system shutdown and startup problems, strange it's the same thing the new CA Anti-Virus was causing too and together they were troublesome on my system.
