kp_xp Posted October 27, 2006 Share Posted October 27, 2006 Hi, When scanning for ?Missing Shared DLLs? or ?Installer? issues, CCleaner stops responding (Task Manager shows it ?Not Responding?). Then, after several seconds, the thermometer comes alive and does the scan. All other options work without delay. This is not an issue with CCleaner as I?m having delay problems with Windows Explorer as well. My memory passes all MEMTEST86+ diagnostics so I think I have a problem with XP. kp_xp Posted November 10, 2006 Author Share Posted November 10, 2006 Who would have THUNK it! the problem turned out to be with my sound board drivers (Audigy 2ZS), and found it just by accident. In my search for a fix, I read nearly every topic in this board and adopted some of the great programs suggested (Dial-A-Fix, ERUNT, MEMTEST86+). CCleaner runs nicely, no hang ups!
