Then, after starting Scandisk, the program scans the harddisk in an endless way and the systems restore program in ME doesn`t work. Who can help me? acooldozen Posted October 25, 2006 Share Posted October 25, 2006 ......yup a problem in WindowsME. Do your scandisk in the safe mode, it should retry 3-5 times prior to completing the scan. Moderators Andavari Posted October 26, 2006 Moderators Share Posted October 26, 2006 ScanDisk not completing can also be caused by real-time antivirus protection running and just how aggressive the real-time protection is. I remember when using Win98 and having to always disable my antivirus real-time protection to allow ScanDisk to complete, the same goes for Defrag.
