Stuck at first start, unskippable first time scan, and this new background service called CCleaner Performance Optimizer Service.    

Will find an older version and stuck with that forever.

there are no problems with the latest versions of "ccleaner." i don't know what you mean by "stuck at first start," "unstoppable scan," "new background service called 'CCleaner Performance Optimizer Service.'" you need to relax. if you had been keeping up-to-date with "ccleaner" you would be familiar with all of that stuff and know that there are no problems with the latest versions of "ccleaner."

the "CCleaner Performance Optimizer Service" doesn't run unless you are using that feature. it is not a problem either way. (the "CCleaner Performance Optimizer Service" is not running on my computer)

it is not unusual for programs to have "services" that run in the background when they are needed. the "CCleaner Performance Optimizer Service" is needed when using that feature.

personally i don't use the "performance optimizer." it's not something that i need. but i can understand ccleaner's adding that feature. i have android devices that automatically do the same thing, disabling (stopping) un-needed and un-used programs that are found running in the background.
