Secure erase: Option to erase first and last 2k of a file

doing that doesnt really do much and the files are still recoverable.

it'd be almost the same as just using 1 scan delete.

also, it needs to overwrite it to fully delete something.

im going to check out eraser and find out about this option though.

Caution! - The "first-and-last" 2k (quick) erase option in the latest version of Eraser (5.8) has caused many people serious problems.

 

Make a full back-up of your computer (on another drive or removable media) before attempting to use it! Pete

I'll be sticking to the older version of eraser. Tried the new one a little while back and it had some issues. They may have been fixed but I'll stick with the one I know works ok - 5.7.
