Problems with word 2003 after CCleaner run

Hi,

I have some strange problems with Word 2003 and Outlook after running CCleaner 1.30.310. I did run CCLeaner twice few months ago without a problem, so perhaps there is a conflict with a recent office update? An idea what's the best way to fix it?

Example of problems:

- Sometimes the vertical scroll bar disappear and I can only scroll through the mouse wheel.

- After word is running for sometime, opening new document will open the document on task bar but never open up the window even when clicking on the task bar. I have to right click and maximise from task bar, and then it's not possible re-size the window to normal position.

- Outlook 2003 give an error it can not use word mail

- Other strange and atypical behavior.

This begun happening immediately after running CCleaner so I'm pretty sure this is the cause.

By the way, where CCleaners stores registry backup? I couldn;t find any in the program folder.

Thanks,

Jonathan!

C:/documents and settings/"USER NAME"/documents or just your "my documents".

not sure on the rest but you can try restoring the registry, "right click it and click merge" and see if that works.

im not getting what your saying here.

it should have asked you to save a registry backup, did it not?

one other possible way to fix the issue would be to go to,

start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore.

you can restore your computer back to an earlier date and see if that helps.

if not, you can always restore it back to where you were before using system restore.

It seems like it only asks you for backup when you "Fix Issues", here I only "Run Cleaner".

So I just did a restore which was successful, but now I can not uninstall certain programs (I get an error that the installation script is not found).

When I try to undo the restore, it fails, and so is any attempt to restore to any other restore point... :(

Ideas anyone?

im sorry, i thought you were talking about the issues.

if you just run it, it deletes files and such that arent needed.

there is no backup for this.

the programs you want to uninstall, are the programs newer than the restore point that you went back to?

if so, thats probably why.

one thing you could check would be C:\program files, then the name of the program you want to uninstall.

usually there is an uninstaller located in that specific program file.

its usually something like uninstall.exe.

EDIT: also make sure that system restore is turned on and running.

right click on "my computer" and click the "system restore" tab.

if that is turned off, please turn it on.
