Ccleaner doesn't list firefox when using non-admin account

I am using ccleaner on Windows 10. I recently changed my laptop so there was a separate admin account & made my everyday account a standard one. Ever since then Firefox does not show up in the list of applications in ccleaner when cleaning, nor does it show up under tools - browser plugins. The firefox profile has not been moved. The only change was changing the account type. Why when I run ccleaner as admin it still doesn't bring up firefox? The cc version I have is 6.09.10300 on Windows 10 Home. Thanks.

Which account is the Firefox installed in? Which account is the CCleaner installed in?

Is your CCleaner the Pro version?
You need CCleaner Pro to be able to clean, or otherwise manage, multiple user accounts.

Everything was installed as my account when there was only 1 account & I was the admin. I added a new account & made that the admin then changed mine to standard. The admin account is unsued, I just made the changes for security reasons but firefox wasn't reinstalled. When I made my account admin again Firefox is listed as normal so this is what I don't understand.

Unexpected things can happen when creating new Windows user accounts, and/or when changing account permissions.
In particular a new account/permission status may not be recognised by previously installed software.

Is your CCleaner Pro or Free?
If it's Pro then what do you have set for the users to be cleaned?

It's the free version. I might reinstall FF & CC, see what happens!

Is Firefox in the defaukt location? Settings like customlocation are user based (except in the case of settings in ccleaner.ini if ccleaner is located not in program files)

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Do you mean the default user folder? If so the FF profile is in my folder then all the other Mozilla stuff is in usual places on c-drive.

I've fixed it! I logged in to the admin account & made FF the default web browser & that seems to have resolved it!

Ok never mind because now it has decided to stop cleaning the recycle bin which it was doing fine before. Reinstalling hasn't resolved anything. I give up! Every other app is works fine after I changed the account type apart from CC!

Each user account has it's own individual recycle bin.

So if you are using CCleaner Free then it will only be cleaning one of the bins and not the other.

As I said above: You need CCleaner Pro to be able to clean, or otherwise manage, multiple user accounts.

PS. Although you say "every other app is works fine" you will find that things like word processors, spreadsheets, photo editors, etc. are now saving files in seperate places for each user account.
ie. Each user has their own set of standard folders - Documents, Pictures, Downloads, and so on.
Each user even has their own Desktop, and a user folder for that too.

Everything seems to be saving in the same places as before. I made the account changes a while ago & haven't noticed any problems other than CC. I'm not paying for CC pro though so I will get rid of it if it's not going to work the way it was even when run as admin.

I should add - as I am cleaning it says it is cleaning the recycle bin for my user account but it doesn't actually empty it. It is set to clean everything in the bin, not the files older than 24hrs.

Have you looked in the bin to see if there is actually anything in it?

If CCleaner repeated says it's cleaning the bin, even though you have just cleaned it so it should be empty, then you almost certainly have a corrupted bin.

Corrupted bins happen and are easy to fix: https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/60979-empty-recycle-bin-skipped-files/?tab=comments#comment-331053

Yes of course I have checked the bin!

The bin was not corrupted prior to me adding FF as the default browser in the admin account. I do not believe the bin is corrupted - I think cc is the issue & I can survive without it.

Thanks all for the help!
