Recovery drive

Do you have the target drive connected?

Both the drive to be recovered from and the target drive to recover to need to be connected.

Note that if there are a lot of deleted and overwritten files on a drive then Recuva may/will think it needs the space to restore them all (even though it can't because they are overwritten) - which may be more that the 'recover-from' drive could actually hold.

Has your drive crashed so you need to recover undeleted files? Or are you trying to recover accidentally deleted files?

Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? See this link:

Ah! I didn't see an option for a target drive, so I thought I was missing something.  I just clicked on 'Recover" and found the prompt for a target drive.  I hadn't wanted to click on "Recover" until I had assigned the drive, which is completely clean.  And yes, I accidentally deleted the files on the first drive.

Thanks for the lead.
