ChrisM2197
CCleaner remains open in the system tray when the program is closed, with Minimize to System Tray in settings under advanced turned OFF. I am running the latest version of Windows 11 and CCleaner as of this writing. Is this a bug (I assume it is) or is there a setting I am missing to disable this from happening? Moderators Nergal Posted August 29, 2022 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2022 Turn off both Smartcleaning and auto update ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Those options (Smart Cleaning and Auto Updating) each have to run a background process to work properly. So if either one, or both, are enabled then Windows puts an icon in the system tray to show that CCleaner is running something in the background. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
