emarg13
See attached screenshot I have run the, Custom Clean - Windows - Advanced with the Tray Notifications Cache selected (see attached screenshot 1), but the program never removes old entries in my Notifications Cache. I uninstalled a program called TrayStatus, but the icons for it still appear (4 times) when I go to, Settings - Personalization - Taskbar (see attach screenshot 2). I have tried the solution below, but it did not remove the icons. Find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify You will see three things. Select IconStreams and PastIconsStream, and delete them. Why won't CCleaner get rid of them. Is there a way to make this work? If not, any ideas? Thanks.

Just checking a few things Does it show up under the start-up tab when you run Windows Taskmanager ? Nothing left in Program files folder and places related (Appdata etc) Is this where you got it from ? https://www.traystatus.com If no joy then perhaps ask here https://www.traystatus.com/Discussions/ Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 19, 2022 Moderators Share Posted April 19, 2022 @emarg13 Also look in your Windows Task Scheduler Library (Press start button and immediately type Task Scheduler and select it) Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
emarg13
It does not show in Startup. There are no traces of it in Program Files or Program Files (x86). Deleted any traces of TrayStatus anywhere on C: Drive. No trace of it in Task Scheduler. The issue persists. emarg13
I did find one occurrence of "Binary Fortress" in the registry, and I deleted it. Restarted. Issue not resolved. I appreciate your effort.
Moderators nukecad Posted April 19, 2022 Moderators Share Posted April 19, 2022 I think I'd try Revo Uninstaller (Pro or Pro trial) to get rid of lingering traces of Tray Status:https://www.revouninstaller.com/preview-log/?pid=4122&pname=TrayStatus *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? Bastet
I use this: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5662-reset-notification-area-icons-windows-10-a.html the only downside is that you’ll have to choose the icons you wish to show in the notification area again. Virginia/Bastet. Windows 11 Pro 22H2. CCleaner Pro. MalwareBytes Pro. Defender. Macrium Reflect Home.
