Wayneboy
Good morning to all. I am new here and I have a question about browsers. I recently installed the Maxthon 5 browser on my desktop because I'm having trouble finding a browser that works on my antiquated XP OS. When running Ccleaner free version, it shows Chrome, IE, and Firefox browsers but not Maxthon. Is that because it sees Maxthon as Chrome or Firefox? Thanks! Moderators Nergal Posted June 12, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 12, 2021 ccleaner cleans browsers in their parent browser but I don't remember if maxthon is child of chrome or firefox (I think it used to be based on ie but don't know now what it is or if it's already cleaned by ccleaner). ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators nukecad Posted June 12, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 12, 2021 It's Chinese so may be it's own thing and not Chrome/Firefox based? Winapp2 might include cleaming rules for it but I don't know for sure? *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators hazelnut Posted June 12, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 12, 2021 The latest Maxathon Cloud release notes show this..... Moderators Andavari Posted June 13, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 13, 2021 I know it used to be IE based way back when I tried in on WinXP, so when CCleaner would clean Internet Explorer it would also be cleaning Maxthon (Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, etc). It might be "safer" to use the last WinXP compatible version of Firefox.
trium
yes, myie2 - i used it too at that time with w98 and ie5/ie6, because it gives the tab-function to "myie-internet-explorer" that the ie dont give. mx5 seems to use the chromium core 61 https://www.maxthon.com/mx5/changelog/ Versions of CCleaner Cloud; Introduction Ccleaner Cloud; Ccleaner-->System-Requirements; Ccleaner FAQ´s; Ccleaner builds; Scheduling Ccleaner Free Es ist möglich, keine Fehler zu machen und dennoch zu verlieren.
