whatonearth
Similar to this thread i started a deep scan on all drives, it failed on step 5 on an external 1TB HDD and now some old programs that use Ddraw (Sudden strike 2 etc) have broken Edited May 25, 2021 by whatonearth
whatonearth
Ah i've found what's happened. Your program has edited and removed all file attributes on the executables on the drive for some reason. You should really fix that.
Moderators Augeas Posted May 25, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 25, 2021 I don't know what you mean by step 5, Recuva (free) only has three stages . Recuva does not change any attributes on any file on the source drive, so I've no idea what is happening with your drive.
whatonearth
It does have more than 3 stages and yes it does change attributes on files. Before using your program these files had compatibility and admin permissions, now they don't. If it didn't do anything why would i be here? . I guess you're not willing to make your software better and would rather deny everything. Edited May 25, 2021 by whatonearth
Moderators Augeas Posted May 25, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 25, 2021 You must have a different Recuva from me then. However willing the moderators are here they don't write any of Piriform's code, nor do they deny much either.
