KateShortForBob
Some time ago, Youtube started showing ads, despite CCleaner Browser's Adblock being on. As of the 18th of May, the option to download videos from Youtube has gone. It is still an option on Facebook, so the function is still there. Reinstalling the browser does nothing. Anthony Boni
I have the same problem. Several days ago the video downloader stopped appearing in the right hand corner. Reinstalling does not work. I have to assume this may be happening to others as well.
Moderators nukecad Posted May 24, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 24, 2021 Youtube has been making more changes recently. The ads situation will be a change that Youtube made to push advertising, it will take blockers time to catch up. Presumably your downloader is/was a browser add-on? There is no official downloader in Youtube, that's because downloading is against their terms and conditions for copyright reasons. YouTube is constantly changing its source code. Many downloader add-ons don't keep up with those changes which means they may stop working suddenly. You could try installing a different downloader add-on. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? KateShortForBob
This is CCleaner Video Downloader, included with CCleaner Browser.
Moderators nukecad Posted May 27, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 27, 2021 I've flagged your question for staff attention, But if Youtube is blocking downloads then Youtube is blocking downloads. And as said above downloading from Youtube is against their terms and conditions, so they will block downloaders if/when they can. Youtube, and the music industry, takes legal action against products that allow downloading, of copywrited material, from Youtube. I don't know if that has happened here but it may have. Quote They’ve sued several YouTube download sites, removed streamripper URLs from search engines, and most recently they targeted the open-source tool youtube-dl as well. Does it still work to download from sites other than Youtube? If you go to another site with (legally) downloadable video content does the button appear again? (I don't have the browser installed to try myself). From the CCleaner documentation: https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/ccleaner-browser/ccleaner-browser-tools Quote The Video Downloader feature allows you to easily download video and audio content from your favorite sites. To use this feature, click the Video Downloader icon in the top-right corner of the screen, then select the video and format you want to download. Please note that Video Downloader may not be compatible with all websites. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Rubencito
1. For blocking video ads on youtube remember to set your blocking to STRICT. Press menu, Security & Privacy Center, Adblock, settings (small letters), strict. 2. The video download function can be find in Menu, extensions, Developer mode. When activated this used to be enough to download videos from whatever site you visited, including youtube. Now it dosent work anywhere it seams. Does anyone have a work around without using the typical downloading sites or apps?

Admin Dave CCleaner Posted June 3, 2021 Admin Share Posted June 3, 2021 I am using CCleaner Browser v91 beta and I am seeing the Adblock counter ticket up as I browse through YouTube (and no ads displaying) so that looks promising on that front. Video downloader fixes still seems like a work in progress though. Admin Dave CCleaner Posted June 16, 2022 Admin Share Posted June 16, 2022 @KateShortForBob: Websites keep finding work-arounds for ad blockers so we're always needing to update to work-around their work-arounds. That said, I just checked YouTube and CCleaner Browser (102.0.17180.117) was blocking banner ads and inviting me to download the video that I was watching but video ads were still playing before my video. I updated to 102.1.17190.117 - same experience. Can I check which version of the browser you are currently using?
