Moderators nukecad Posted February 3, 2021 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2021 The fact that you can clear them only through the browser suggest that you have syncing enabled. Have a look at this for why things may be coming back after cleaning with CCleaner, including if you are synced, and what you can do about it:https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/52668-tracking-files/?tab=comments#comment-300043 *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? fred99
Many thanks for getting back to me and yes checked the sync and bin suggestions but unfortunately not that ? Cc is keeping traces of websites i visit not all but just some. So, will clear say 100 and leave around 10 others in browser history.I've uninstalled ccleaner and downloaded latest version, checked updates etc and can't seem to solve this ? Moderators nukecad Posted February 3, 2021 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2021 Strange, so a few questions to try and work out what is happening. Just to make sure first, we are talking about Google Chrome browser? Where are you seeing this persistent history? (ie. in the browser, in CCleaner, or somewhere else?) Is it always the same websites? Are you willing/able to share a screenshot of what you are seeing? Are you using Health Check or Custom Clean? If it's Custom Clean then what do you have ticked/unticked for Chrome? And for completeness: Which Windows version are you on? and which Antivirus do you use? *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? fred99
Yes strange indeed and looks like my own silly fault but not too sure how i actually achieved this.I had unticked a box under 'Google applications' "sessions" inserted tick in that box and all was well again. Thanks for everyone's help with this.
Moderators nukecad Posted February 4, 2021 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2021 Yes that would explain it. CCleaner was clearing your history, but the tabs that were open when you closed the browser would be saved in 'Sessions' and put straight back into the history when you reopened the browser. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
