IanMM
If I load CCleaner from the information area, it will load in a normal (?) window which I have to maximise. If I close the app and re-open it in the same Windows sessiuon, it subsequently loads maximised; however, if I reboot my PC, I go back again the app again loads in a normal window. is there any way of making CCleaner ALWAYS open maximised? I'm running CCleaner v 5.75.8328 on Windows 10 v 20H2 (Build 19042.685) x64.
Moderators nukecad Posted January 3, 2021 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2021 That's a Windows setting. (which is why it goes back to normal again following a restart). See this for how to make any particular app open as maximised, even following a restart:https://www.computerhope.com/tips/tip201.htm I think that by; Quote If I load CCleaner from the information area, you mean from the Taskbar, so see the section for "Taskbar shortcut icon:" *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? IanMM
Thanks for the link. However, it refers to 'shortcuts' only, not items in the information area.
Moderators nukecad Posted January 3, 2021 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2021 Can you explain better, perhaps with a screenshot, of just what you are meaning when you say 'the information area'? (That is not a standard Windows term). Do you mean the System Tray? or do you mean something else? *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators nukecad Posted January 3, 2021 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2021 No problem, but doing it that way in the System Tray then Windows will always reset the window size to 'normal' on a restart/reboot. It's a Windows setting that you cannot change. To achieve what you want and always have the CCleaner window open to maximised every time, even after a restart, then you would have to do things a slightly different way. You just have to change where the CCleaner icon that you use is located. You need to 'Pin' CCleaner to the Taskbar, similar to this screenshot, and then always use that Taskbar icon to launch CCleaner with just one click. To do that: In File Explorer navigate to: C:\Program Files\CCleaner Right Click on 'CCleaner64.exe' and in the context menu that comes up click 'Pin to Taskbar'. You can then use the instructions in the article linked above to set it's properties to always open maximised. Once you have done the above then if you have "Minimise to System Tray" ticked in CCleaners Advanced Options you can untick it (it will minimise to the Taskbar icon instead). Note that as in the above screenshot you will also still see a Ccleaner icon in the System Tray if you have Smart Cleaning or Automatic Updates enabled in CCleaner, that's because they run as background tasks, you can just leave that one alone and simply launch CCleaner from the Taskbar icon. Hope that helps, sorry for the earlier confusion. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning?
