Quick access in Windows explorer

I have been using the health check feature for quite some time now.

I recently acquired a laptop that has 2 drives. The boot drive 'C:' which is an SSD and a second drive 'D:' which is a HDD.

Since I have started storing my files on the HDD, explorer creates a Quick Access list of the files on the HDD. This is not cleared by CCLEANER'S health check.

Any ideas on how to clean this without deleting the files I viewed?

If you are meaning that the quick access folder is showing your recently used files, and you don't want see that that but don't want to delete them either, then you can change that behavour in File Explorer.

• Open file explorer and (in the list on the right of the window) right click on the quick access folder.
• From the context menu that comes up click on 'Options'.
• In the window that comes up select the 'General' tab.
• You can set there whether Quick Access shows recently used files/folders or not.

 

If instead you want CCleaner to clear the Recently Used list altogether then you will have to use Custom Clean and not Health Check.
(Health Check does not clear that list as many/most users do want to keep that list).

Custom Clean has a setting to remove 'Recent Documents' from Windows Explorer.
(It just clears the recently used list, it doesn't do anything to the documents themselves).
