mogli 0
Hi! Since a few weeks when visiting https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/version-history I often, but not always, get a 'too many redirects' error. I tried different browsers, clearing their caches and cookies, etc. but nothing works. It worked fine for many years so I guess it's a site issue. Any ideas?
Moderators nukecad 7 Posted November 10, 2020 Moderators Share Posted November 10, 2020 Try putting that url into this online tool to see if it is redirecting on your computer.https://httpstatus.io/ I'm only seeing one redirect for that version-history webpage. If you are seeing more then I'd suspect the redirects may be coming from Adware or a browser hijacker, but you say that you are getting the same in more than one browser which seems odd. I would check this article out just in case: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-web-browser-redirect-virus There are step-by-step instructions in that bleepingcomputer post on how to remove browser hijackers (and other nasties). It's worth doing at least some of those even if you think your machine is clean. TBH all that is a pretty comprehensive virus check/clean-up routine and, although it's step 6 there, I would usually try running Malwarebytes ADWcleaner first if you are only looking at a redirect problem: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ (And personally I'd probably skip steps 4 &5, at least to begin with). Admin Dave CCleaner 1 Posted November 10, 2020 Admin Share Posted November 10, 2020 Curious to know your OS and browser version. I recall there being an issue for users on old browsers that were tied to old TLS versions.
mogli 0
It's the language. All other languages than EN work fine, e.g. https://www.ccleaner.com/fr-fr/ccleaner/release-notes. Because the actual release notes are written in english everywhere anyhow, I just switched the link to a localized version and the problem is fixed.
