Unable to open recovered data

I'm trying to recover the data of a formatted disk. When I run the scan, I can find most of the files in excellent state, so I run the recover tool and got a lot of data in my drive. The problem is that I can't open any file. When I try to open a picture, it reads "seems that the format is not compatible", with similar error messages in office docs. Nothings works. I think that it may be because the user had a password, I don't know if the data is somehow encrypted. I have the user and password from the previous user, but there is no option to open it using it. I'd love to have some help here, thanks in advance
