Oceansofthestars
Hi, I've been trying to use Recuva with a Fire 7 tablet, but for some reason the tablet isn't detected by Recuva. I've searched around, and apparently I need to find a way to assign the Fire Tablet a drive letter? I've tried the basic way of doing so through Device Manager, but it doesn't seem to have an option to assign a letter for a portable device, either. Has anyone ever run into this problem? How did you manage to use Recuva with your Fire?
Moderators Nergal Posted May 25, 2020 Moderators Share Posted May 25, 2020 I assume, like regular Android, the Fire doesn't have the ability to mount as a drive. This feature was removed from Android during Ice Cream, if I remember right. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators Andavari Posted May 26, 2020 Moderators Share Posted May 26, 2020 Perhaps look for help on the official Amazon Forum:https://www.amazonforum.com https://www.amazonforum.com/s/global-search/restore files data --------------- Supposedly "there is a way with paid for software" going by results in this search (I haven't tried it, so I don't know the results):https://duckduckgo.com/?q=recover+files+from+fire+tablet --------------- One thing I do know since my mother has umpteen different Amazon Fire Tablets is you can re-download your files (pictures, etc.,) if you synced/backed them up on Amazon cloud servers (I haven't a clue if it does that automatically on it's own accord, or if it was something you had to be doing manually all along so good luck) -- anyways that's what I remember my mother doing when she bought her new Fire Tablet, she just had it re-downloaded/sync everything which it was able to do automatically. Admin Dave CCleaner Posted May 27, 2020 Admin Share Posted May 27, 2020 Not sure it if applies in your case (I don't know if the Fires have a memory card), but a few years back I recovered photos from an old phone by popping out the memory card, sticking into my laptop (with an adapter) and Recuva recovered everything. If your device does not have a removable memory card, or the files you wanted to recover were on the device storage (and you don't have any sort of cloud sync enabled) then ...
