Recovery after defrag

Edwin

Recommended Posts

I ran ccleaner, and once that was complete I noticed that I had previously downloaded software in my Download folder.  At that time, I deleted the files, emptied the trash bin, and then ran a Defrag.  Once that was complete, I realized that I shouldn't have deleted the files in  my Download folder.  How can I restore them?

You can try recuva, but I wouldn't hold my breath about saving them all.

I've moved this to the recuva board

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

As this was previously downoaded software then it's probably easier to simply download the ones you want again.

Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? See this link:

These were mostly photos that are no longer available for download.

You did say in your original post that it was downloaded software, you didn't mention anything about photos.
