Moderators TwistedMetal Posted July 4, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 4, 2006 Almost all of them are already in CCleaner or winapp2.ini Your Friendly Neighborhood Piriform Forum Moderator Quick Links: CCleaner Products | CCleaner Documentation | Knowledge Center | Downloads | Lost License Key
TonyKlein
Also, it's IMHO NOT a good idea to have CCLeaner delete the contents of the Ad-Aware Quarantine folder by default: FileKey2=%userprofile%\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Quarantine|*.* This folder serves a very useful purpose: notably, in case of AAW accidentally identifying a legitimate file as malware, it allows you to safely restore it. Also, more generally speaking, log files are there for a purpose, and they can be extremely informative, as well as helpful in resolving issues. Again, I really feel I have to advise against blindly nuking anything that happens to have a *.log extension... kazme
no i don't think the prefetch clean is in cccleaner, and that folder is ofen quite large with many files this is some programs from me: add them to winapp2.ini [Diskeeper Corporation By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Diskeeper Corporation\Diskeeper\Diskeeper.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Diskeeper Corporation\Diskeeper|*.txt* [Ati tool By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\ATITool\ATITool.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\ATITool|*log.txt* [steam By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Steam\steam.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Steam|*.log* [Disk cleaner By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\disk cleaner\DClean.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\disk cleaner|*.log* [Nero 7 By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Nero\Nero 7\Core\nero.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%Nero\Nero 7\Core|*NeroHistory.log* [Dc++ By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\DC++\DCPlusPlus.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\DC++|*changelog.txt* [Windows Prefetch By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3025 DetectFile=%windir%\system32\notepad.exe Default=True FileKey1=%windir%\prefetch|*.pf* FileKey2=%windir%\prefetch|*.ini* [Ad-Aware By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3024 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Professional\Ad-Aware.exe Default=True FileKey1=%userprofile%\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Logs|*.* [Windows mini memory dump By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3025 DetectFile=%windir%\explorer.exe Default=True FileKey1=%windir%\Minidump|*.* [XoftSpy By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3024 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\XoftSpy\XoftSpy.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\XoftSpy\Logs|*.* Cya
TonyKlein
no i don't think the prefetch clean is in cccleaner Oh yes, it is (see screenshot). CCleaner very sensibly removes (only) the older Prefetch entries. However, it is NOt recommended to clean out the entire contents of the folder. Once again, it is there for a reason. Moderators Andavari Posted July 5, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 5, 2006 I would first like to welcome you to the CCleaner forums KaZmE as I haven't seen you on here before even though you've been here for a month. ---------- Now for some constructive critism: In my opinion the entries don't need branding with your username in the shown title! If you want your name along with an entry I'd suggest changing it from this: [XoftSpy By:KaZmE] LangSecRef=3024 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\XoftSpy\XoftSpy.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\XoftSpy\Logs|*.* To this, your username will be in the comment: [XoftSpy] LangSecRef=3024 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\XoftSpy\XoftSpy.exe Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\XoftSpy\Logs|*.* ;This entry was created by KaZmE ...also this is an inproper place to randomly post entries, as they are to be submitted to TwistedMetal via a PM in this official thread winapp2.ini thread. TonyKlein
No prob at all, and of course welcome to the board! It's just that it's a good idea prior to posting your own proposed winapp2.ini entries to check the existing ones so as to avoid duplication.
