There are issues, like yours, with the latest build which the devs are busy fixing.

You can either hang on 'til the new build or go back a build (right-hand side of this page)

It seems to be a problem with the software updater that gives that message. If everything else is working then simply ignore it until it gets fixed.

Pro (paid) version gives you Smart Cleaning, scheduled cleaning, multi user account cleaning, automatic updates, and customer support by email.

Free version does everything else the same but not those.

Hi,

With the new version of CCleaner with the Health Check, it says it's unable to establish a connection, for the security check.

I have the Pro version and can connect to the net for updates on the program, so not sure what's going on.

Can anyone help please?

I am having the same problem. I am using CCleaner Browser and ran CCleaner new version just now. I got the following results. It said We're Unable to Establish a conneciton and said it detected 204 trackers to remove. Clicked Make It Better and the program ran and the results were We're Unable to Establish a Connection Here are the issues we were able to fix. And it said it removed 154 trackers. Why is CCleaner doing this? Why can't it Establish a Connection to what? Why does it not remove all the trackers? Why are there so many trackers when I am using CCleaner browser? I thought CCleaner browser was suppose to protect you from trackers.

There are issues with the latest build (5.64) which the developers are working to fix.

You can either hang on or go back to 5.63 avaible from right-hand side of page here.

Health Check reports everything internet related, Cookies and Temporary Internet Files, as 'Trackers'.

Whilst strictly correct in one sense of the word they are not what you, I, or anyone else would think of as a 'Tracker' at all, see the link in my signature below this post.

It's one of the known issues that they are working on.

That particular one is simply a wrong message being shown by Health Check.
It is connecting to the server, but isn't finding any software updates.

When the seperate tool Software Updater reports that my applications are up to date HC instead says 'Unable to reach the server' .
When there is an application to update Software Updater says so, and so does HC - so it's obviously able to reach the server to check but giving the wrong message if nothing is found.

You could simply ignore it for now or revert back to v5.63, you'll find it on the right of the filehippo page:

I am having this same issue off and on since yesterday.  Sometimes it completes, sometimes it cannot make a connection.  I am using CCleaner Pro Version 5.64.7613 (X64).

  • Dave CCleaner changed the title to Health Check "unable to reach server" message [to be fixed in version 5.65]

I keep getting the message "We're unable to establish a connection," but I have no network issues on my home wifi.  This is happening on multiple laptops in my house.  I understand that CCleaner might actually be doing its job, but I have many "non-techies" in my house, and when they see this message, they think there is something wrong with their computer or our home wifi.  Please fix!

It's not that you are offline, but rather that the server could not be contacted (or timed out) - we need to make that status message a little clearer.  Do you get that every time you are running HealthCheck?

Getting same message when using CCleaner health check "unable to establish a connection"   tried CCleaner professional on a trial and got the same message.   they need to get the bugs out before I think about the paid version.

I get the same problem? What shall I do about it, please someone help me, thank you.

Please describe just what you are seeing, or post a screenshot.

We often get users who say 'Me too' but when we look closer they actually are seeing something similar but not the same.

It can cause confusion if/when we are giving advice about one thing but the issue that they have is something else.

It also helps if you say what Windows version you have, what CCleaner version, and what Antivirus you are running.

What happens if you use Tools>Software Updater?

Does that also say that is unable to reach the server?
