BuKToP
My question is more about the setup size, not a bug or something... What are these big changes in CCleaner 5.62 Free comparing to 5.61 Free? As an .exe file the latest version is 24 846 Kb, while 5.61 is 20 831 Kb. This is 25% bigger file and usually I prefer when a piece of software is keeping close to its size no matter of the version. With this speed we can expect version 6.00 to be 100 MB in size? Please, don't increase the size... if possible.
Moderators Andavari Posted October 15, 2019 Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2019 They keep adding stuff into it, like Easy Clean, etc. Look back maybe five or ten years at the size and you'll be shocked.
BuKToP
I understand but Easy Clean was also in 5.61... This is not a new feature in 5.62, so Easy Clean is not the reason...
Moderators nukecad Posted October 15, 2019 Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2019 The increase in size will be due to the new Health Check feature which is the next development of Easy Clean. It has a number of new screens and some new coding.https://techdows.com/2019/10/exclusive-first-look-at-ccleaner-health-check-feature.html Not all users will see Health Check in v5.62, (the majority will still see Easy Clean) but the new screens and coding are already in there waiting to be switched on for everybody in a future version. If you are an advanced user familiar/comfortable with editing the registry then you can switch it on yourself in v5.62 by changing a registry entry.https://forum.piriform.com/topic/55670-latest-update-v5627538-different-format-on-pc-and-laptop-health-check/?tab=comments#comment-311110 (Note; I only had to change the first of the registry entries given there to turn it on/off). *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
