Meg21
Just downloaded CCleaner and run the scan - it has stuck at 76%. Cancelled and started again a few times and it stops at 76% every time. Can anyone help?
Moderators nukecad Posted October 7, 2019 Moderators Share Posted October 7, 2019 Is there any indication of what file/category it is sticking on? If you use Custom Clean then it should be written just below the green progress bar. If you use Easy Clean it should be written underneath each of the 2 icons. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Meg21
Hi, Thanks for replying. It's stuck on Google Chrome Internet Cache /users/myname/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/E.....
Moderators nukecad Posted October 7, 2019 Moderators Share Posted October 7, 2019 I'm not sure why CCleaner is getting stuck there but I would try cleaning the cache from within Chrome itself to see if it clears the blockage. See this for how to do that https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en I do think/recall that there can be a problem with 'compact database' in Chrome that only Chrome itself can clear. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators Nergal Posted October 7, 2019 Moderators Share Posted October 7, 2019 Is chrome still running in the background, check your task manager for any chrome.exe or plugin container. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
