On your PC do you have Adobe Acrobat installed?  Or were you opening PDF files in a web browser?  If the latter then opening up the PDF files should continue to display them in a web browser as usual?

I have about the same issue! My files are saving as ccleaner.... HELP!!

It sounds like you have inadvertently downloaded CCleaner Browser, which has associated your files with the browser.
Almost all newly installed browsers will do this and reassociate how files are opened.

The  possible inadvertent downloading of CC Browser will become less possible shortly (in a few weeks we are told) but can still be annoying for now.

What can you do about it?

This talks about PDF files - but it is the same process for any other file that has been reassociated.
You just have to set the file association back to whichever programme you want to open those files with:

I need more instructions on how to fix this.  I am not a computer wiz....   Please help!

All of the sudden, any document that I download and save, saves as ccleaner.  The only other choice is "all files".  I can't have this. I work from home and do tons of research.

I've already answered you here: https://forum.piriform.com/topic/55455-ccleaner-browser-pdf-files/?tab=comments#comment-312287

PS. There is no need to ask a question more than once in different places, once is enough to get an answer (if someone knows).

This is so unacceptable.  No credible app should ever hijack your files.  Whatever excuse that is given is, again, unacceptable.  I used to recommend CCleaner to people but will no longer be doing that and will be deleting it from all of my electronics.
