WPTFL
I would like to see Waterrfox added to supported Browsers to Clean as I do for Firefox and Chrome. Etc.,
Moderators Nergal Posted June 12, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 12, 2019 I believe waterfox is already cleaned via the firefox section of ccleaner. Maybe you need to enter a custom location https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/ccleaner-ini-files/how-to-clean-user-data-from-non-standard-mozilla-browsers Works with chrome (including its children) and opera as well as firefox (and clones). Just use CHROME or OPERA instead of FIREFOX. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. WPTFL
Nope I added it to latest CCleaner and got latest Waterfox it doesn't clean anything.... It only does my Firefox which I dont use anymore... Would be simpler to just have it at Pirform to add it as you do others so it works everytime. Just honest opinion... Moderators Andavari Posted June 14, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2019 Would be nice if they were just detectable without adding in anything additional. But I suppose having the ability to use CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|, etc., is better than nothing.

WPTFL
Well two things 1 here is screen shots proving it doesnt work manually adding the custom location to the INI File next when I run CCleaner its not even looking for the Custom Location so when I open Waterfox every bit of history is untouched. The latest version of CCleaner doesn't touch the Newest Waterfox Perhaps a open Menu Customize and add the Location with a drop box it would then be able to add any other browser variant? The above is the ini image meant to upload not the first one .... cant delete the wrong image...
Moderators nukecad Posted June 14, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2019 I notice that you have 'Custom files and Folders' unchecked in that CCleaner screenshot. It might be a good idea to check it if you are specifying custom locations to be cleaned. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators Nergal Posted June 14, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2019 Custom location didn't work because you have {User Name} instead of your username Nevermind I was looking at the first image ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators Andavari Posted June 14, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) Try it again without the profile names ticked onto the end of it, i.e.; have it end with just ..\Profiles I could be looking at this all though since I only use the portable versions of browsers. Edit: Also you don't need two CustomLocation entries for the exact same profile, maybe that is tripping up CCleaner. Admin Dave CCleaner Posted July 2, 2019 Admin Share Posted July 2, 2019 A few years back the devs got rather enthusiastic and added support for a host of niche browsers - including the Firefox forks Cyberfox and Pale Moon. Some proved to have greater success and longevity than others. If anyone passionately keen for support for their favourite browser is able to dig up any relative user base size / browser market share / etc data that would be helpful with prioritisation. Moderators nukecad Posted July 2, 2019 Moderators Share Posted July 2, 2019 The problem as I see it is the more 'clone' browsers that are added as standard then the longer CC will take to look/scan for the files associated with those browsers. And so that is obviously going to slow things down for those who don't use them. TBH I think that Winapp2 from the user community is an excelent way to handle that problem. Credit where it's due. Not many software companies would even let users to have that much control over the 'standard' programme. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? While we aim for the "out of the box" configuration and functionality to suit the majority of users, for the sake of sanity there's a point in the long tail of requests where we have to stop - so we've kept things reasonably open so that the user community can step in to handle the niche customisations they are passionate about. Typical disclaimers apply, of course, as with any third-party modifications to anything. Although we don't officially endorse winapp2, it's good stuff for those who need it.
