DRIVE WIPER - SSD ???

Recommended Posts

Hi

I wanted to wipe my drive on my Tablet which is running Windows 10.

I get "C: is NOT recommended. Drive C: is solid-state drive (SSD) which can wear out prematurely when securely wiped.@

Is it just a precaution or is it really dangerous? So there is no way to do it on SSD? I just ordered a laptop with SSD drive so will have a problem.

Please help

regards

SSDs are more prone to wear, so it is not recommended to do things like this on a regular basis to them. Every now and then won't hurt. Note that this is not a maintenance activity, but rather a one-off way to torch sensitive files after deletion.
