Premium fails to register

Recommended Posts

Bought premium version an hour ago and regret it already. I bought the package with three other programs, and they registered fine. But CCleaner--the one I ACTUALLY WANT--fails to register. The msg says Fail, but of course does not say why or what to do.  I use copy/paste for name and key, so there is no typing error, and the other three progs registered fine.

I've used the Free version for years and love it and figured the pre version would be better.

Any ideas?

Doesn't the name field need to be your email address, I might be wrong but it could be the issue.

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

The other three progs that came with CCleaner registered fine: Speccy, Defragger, and Recuva. No problem, It's only CCleaner that fails and I used the same copy/paste method for all four.

So did you try this from the link above?

"Failed to save registration key" - This usually means you are not running CCleaner with the correct permissions.

To resolve this issue, please run CCleaner as the Administrator. To do this:

  1. Right-click on the CCleaner icon
  2. Select Run as Administrator
  3. Now re-enter your registration details in the pop-up

*If the registration box does not appear go to Options > About > Click 'Register' or 'Upgrade to Pro'.*

You are on the right path. When installing anything, the Admin log on appears and I used that successfully for Recuva, Speccy, and Defragger. Worked perfectly but not CCleaner. So I switched Users to Admin mode and CCleaner was already installed. Then in Options, found a way for both users. That worked.

MANY THANKS
