squibbon
I just noticed that the Software Updater component of Kaspersky Internet Security 2019 is reporting that CCleaner 5.44 is out of date and will update version 5.44 back to 5.45 if allowed. I thought version 5.45 had been pulled from the servers. How is Kaspersky able to download the 5.45 update?
Moderators Nergal Posted August 8, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2018 It has been removed. This seems a question to better ask Kaspersky. But they'd be breaking ccleaner's license if they're hosting their own. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators mta Posted August 8, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2018 v5.45 was only pulled a few days ago, my guess is Kaspersky either 1) hasn't been informed, 2) doesn't check this sort of thing happening regularly or 3) the 'pull' is still trickling it's way through various systems. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
