I'm having trouble with CCleaner crashing. This problem has only started happening in the past few days. What is wrong?

The program opens fine. But when I "Run Cleaner," I get the following message:-

I select Option 1. The program closes, but is not fixed. I have no idea what all this means?

Do you, per chance have Kaspersky internet security? If not what antivirus are you using?

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

as well as issues with Kaspersky, CC currently has issues with MalwareBytes also.

Backup now & backup often.

Thanks Nergal and mta. Yes, I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Is that the problem? Is there anything I can do? I still have 9 months of coverage on Kaspersky left.

Maybe I should change to another anti-virus software (recommendations??) next year. I had another program that Kaspersky didn't like - Video Thumbnail Maker. Kaspersky kept crashing that program too.

some members on here have reported that updating to the latest Kaspersky fixed their CC issues, so try that first.

another option would be to try a previous version of CC until v5.43 is replaced, previous versions can be found at FileHippo.

Can you be more specific? If you are referring to the MalwareBytes extension for Firefox, we are working on that with MWB and should have a fix soon.

If not, care to elaborate?
