Merve Posted April 29, 2018 Share Posted April 29, 2018 I have used cccleaner for many years without any problems, but recently following updateing, the system closes down immediately following ‘ the command clean ‘. Having checked various help sites, one which recommended that a complete uninstall and reinstall was necessary. I’m fairy uptodate on my knowledge ( even at my age of 81 ) - I followed the instructions and installed an uptodate version ( 5.42.6495 (64 bit ) ) to find that the same problem exists. I can clean the registry ok, but on the ‘ cleaner ‘ side , after the run cleaner tile activated followed by do you wish to continue -whoops all goes to a blank screen. can anyone assist please. Moderators Nergal Posted April 29, 2018 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2018 This seems to be a flaw in the latest (5.42) ccleaner. others have reported similar crashes when running file cleaning ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
