Oregon_Cowboy
I am using CCleaner – Professional Edition v5.38.6357. I have a License Key which expires 22-Feb-2018. Every time I open CCleaner I get a prompt to download the new version of CCleaner 5.39.6399. But when I reply yes I get an error message, “CCleaner could not be updated. 0x2f7d: An error occurred in the secure channel support”. I try to reregister with the name and license key forwarded to me, but I continue to get the same error. What’s wrong?
Howard Sartori
Same problem on half my PCs - is this an ad blocker problem? or Anti-Virus problem? /Howard
Moderators mta Posted January 18, 2018 Moderators Share Posted January 18, 2018 while not addressing the cause, this should at least get you updated. uninstall your current version first. then go into the Program Files folder for CC and delete its contents (keep the .ini file if you have customised settings) download the latest build from here; https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/buildsreboot the PC then install CC from your downloaded file. if no luck, try the install with the PC in Safe Mode or try the Slim or Portable builds to see if they work. once installed, use your license key to activate.
