Unable to run CCleaner after initial install

I've been using crap cleaner free for quite awhile with no issues, I recently bought professional and I install and run it ok but after I close it out I can't open it again. I get an error that says "Windows can't access specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access the item." I get the message when I try to run it from the desktop shortcut and taskbar shortcut, when I try from the start menu nothing happens not even the error message. I run windows 10 and have Avast free edition. If I remember correctly this may even have happened with the free edition. Thanks for any help.

G’;day @Mamakin nand welcome,

first up let’s make sure no residual crap is left from the previous version.

go to Control Pamel, Programs & Features and remove your CC version.
go to Program Files and delete any CC folders (save your .ini file if you have customisations).
Reboot the PC then reinstall the Pro version.
now see if the various icons all work or at least produce the same error. :)
