babybel Posted May 5, 2006 Share Posted May 5, 2006 i have been trying to reinstall avg free but every time i down load it and click on set up, i get and error reading nstaller initialization failed due to following error: Undefined error: Initialization of the setup data file failed. Opening of the setup data file "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free\setup.dat" failed. No such file or directory Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
zaphirer Posted May 5, 2006 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Try downloading to a different directory, or creating a new one (on, say, the desktop.) It looks like the problem is that the setup.exe is trying to reinstall something that was uninstalled and deleted. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
