Do you know what method was used to disable it?

Backup now & backup often.

mta, thank you for your reply. I disabled hibernation manually from Advanced Power and Sleep Settings (see image) because it was turning off the computer completely without ramping Windows down first.

That should do it, but my normally method is from an elevated command prompt, type powercfg -h off

Then see what Speccy reports.

Yes, that actually removed the choice from the Windows Power Settings dialog (attached), and Speccy reports "disabled." There must be two places that state is recorded in Windows, with the Power Settings dialog reading one and Speccy the other.

 

Thank you. I guess I should save that command in case I need to turn it back on!
