CCleaner brings up the clean "Browser cleaned" notification when closing portable Opera but does not clean the cache

Recommended Posts

I use the portable version of  Opera and it's the latest version  as you can see in the attached screenshot. Its version is 47.0.2631.55

Just wanted to say that it brings up the "Browser cleaned" notification when closing the portable Opera but it does not actually clean the cache.

Perhaps it's not designed to clean the cache created by the portable version but if that's true, it shouldn't bring up the notification.

having just gone through a similar exercise with SlimJet, my guess is either Opera itself, or the fact you have the portable in a non-default location means you need to add a custom location to the CCleaner.ini file.

something along these line; CustomLocation1=CHROME|%UserProfile%\Downloads\Opera\profile\data

Backup now & backup often.
It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.
Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.

Actually should be CustomLocation1=OPERA

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
